Sleek & stylish, these delicate open hoop earrings are based on a pair of hoop earrings from ancient Persia which are over 2,000 years old. They originate from Susa, one of the oldest cities in the world. Artifacts discovered at the site with the earrings include carved cylinder seals, jewelry, beads, clay balls and clay tablets with inscriptions recording business transactions, political history and mathematical calculations. Earrings like these (last photograph via the The Metropolitan Museum of Art) were found amongst the relics and have been reimagined and recreated for modern times.
